I have been made aware of a couple issues with the P-EBT application online. For our students who live in Camden or Laclede counties, our school is not coming up as an option for you. I have contacted the DESE Coordinator for FNS to get the problem corrected but have not heard back yet. Also, for financial purposes, our school is officially called Pulaski County R-IV, so you will need to make that your selection. I apologize for this issue and am working to correct the problem.

DESE has asked us to send out a reminder about the Pandemic Electronic Benefits for families of students who qualify for free or reduced lunches. Since we are a CEP elementary school, all students in that building qualify. Please see the website under News for more information.

Due to current circumstances, Richland High School has canceled Prom. However, a parent-sponsored Prom will be held in its place. Please look for details coming soon.

Any Richland Junior High or High School athlete who will be in grades 6-12 and plans on participating in athletics for the 2020-21 school year will need a physical. This does not include those athletes who turned one in for the 2019-20 school year as MSHSAA is allowing physicals on a 2-year basis (730 days), unless it expires throughout the school year (ex. A physical that was received 3/2/19 is valid through 3/1/21). While the MSHSAA PPE Form is now valid for a two year period from the date of the physical examination, all other pre-participation documents must still be completed annually for every student athlete. These forms are available in the high school office or you can download and print on the MSHSAA website (MSHSAA.org) under Sports Medicine. Please turn forms into the high school office or bring on the first day of fall practice.

ALL SENIORS: Please go to your school email and complete the Prom survey. Thank you

Richland R-IV is accepting bids in the following areas for 2020-2021: dairy, lawn maintenance, and diesel fuel. Bids are due by noon on June 11. Details can found on the district website under News.

All high school students who have completed their sophomore, junior, and senior years, Park University is offering early college enrollment for $90/credit hour/3 credits per class, for up to two online classes (compare to MSU at $218/credit hour). For more information and to enroll (complete the ‘Get Started’ form) go to: https://www.park.edu/admissions/early-college-online/. Make sure to notify the high school of your enrollment so we can send transcripts immediately. Classes begin Friday, June 8th.

All of the P-BET information can be found under News.

All families that qualify for free or reduced meals at school are now eligible for a one-time Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer of up to $302 per child (PK-grade 12). Please see the letter and links with information on our website. This will include all of our elementary students since we are a CEP school. Right now there is not a place to list that CEP option and it looks like you would have to submit a paper application. That is not the case. I have talked with the DESE FNS Coordinator and that will be fixed on Thursday. If you fill out the application before that fix and list your student as attending Richland Elementary, their system will flag your students as CEP eligible. Please see the website as there is a lot of information there.

I would like to invite everyone to a Fine Arts presentation featuring Jr./Sr. High student artwork and musical performances. Go to: https://youtu.be/MF-b35yKknI and enjoy. Special thank you to Mrs. Blackburn, Miss Helton, and Mrs. Dains for their hard work to make this happen.

We are making a change to our meal delivery program for next week only. To allow our employees to enjoy Memorial Day with their families, we will deliver on Tuesday and Thursday and then return to our previous schedule on June 1. Please help spread the word and thank you for your understanding

It is preschool graduation that will be set soon, not kindergarten. I apologize for any confusion

Due to health concerns and low projected attendance numbers, Richland Schools will not have summer school this year. We still plan to start the upcoming school year on August 24 as originally scheduled.

High school graduation has been set for Friday, July 10 at 7 pm, with a backup date of Saturday, August 1 at 7 pm. The details of what it will look like are still being decided. We will also be releasing dates and details soon on Prom and Kindergarten graduation and the 6th grade advancement ceremony.

I have heard a rumor that we have a graduation date set, but that is not the case. We are still looking at what time frame and what form will work best for our students and district. We are also still discussing what to do with summer school. The survey is still open on the website - thank you to everyone who has already filled it out. Knowing if your students would/wouldn’t be in attendance will help us make our final decision. When we have that information we will pass it along.
