📅 Parents as Teachers Day is almost here!
Every child deserves a strong start and the people who make that possible deserve our deepest gratitude.
This November 8, on #ParentsAsTeachersDay, we celebrate the home visitors, doulas, and parent educators who walk alongside families every step of the way. Their work is rooted in trust, built on care, and powered by partnership.
They don’t just show up—they show up consistently, with compassion and commitment, helping parents navigate challenges, celebrate milestones, and shape brighter futures for their children.
Join us in recognizing the heart of early childhood support. 💙

This past week, 8 students had the incredible opportunity to travel to Indianapolis, Indiana, for an experience full of learning, leadership, and lifelong memories.
Our trip began with a stop at Mid America Motorworks, where students explored automotive history and got to see the last C4 Corvette ever made along with the famous Herbie car. On Wednesday, we toured Dandy Breeze Creamery, a family-run operation with 80 head of Jersey cows. Students got to love on the cows and calves, see firsthand how the milk is produced, and watch the bottling process from start to finish, gaining a true farm-to-table perspective. We also visited the National FFA Museum, where students learned about FFA history and proudly found the Richland FFA and Jace Roeder Foundation bricks on display, then attended an inspiring Opening Session surrounded by thousands of FFA members from across the country.
Thursday took us to Louisville, Kentucky, where we learned about the history and care behind raising world-class thoroughbreds at Hermitage Farm. Students learned about the history of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. They learned what it takes to prepare for the race, discovered stories of past Derby champions and their legacy in the sport. On Friday, students spent the day exploring the Expo, connecting with agricultural leaders, discovering future career opportunities, and gaining insight into the many pathways involved in agriculture. We closed out the week with a rodeo, a visit to the pumpkin patch, and some friendly, competitive duckpin bowling.
Our members returned home inspired, motivated, and proud to represent Richland FFA while continuing to grow as leaders who will shape the future of agriculture, and future of our community.

Richland Elementary held its October assembly, led by our amazing Student Leadership Team! This month, we celebrated students who demonstrated Responsibility, one of our core character traits. Staff members nominated students who consistently show that they can be counted on to make good choices and take ownership of their actions.
We also learned about D.A.R.E., a program focused on substance abuse prevention education. Students were reminded about the importance of making safe, healthy choices both in and out of school.

Our Buckle Buddy program teaches kids the importance of being Buckled safely in a car seat. It includes a story time, dancing and a goodie bag for each child.
