I would like to commend our staff for their work in meeting the needs of our students in the food delivery process and continuing to prepare for student education in this time of uncertainty. I would also like to give a big thank you to our parents for their work in coming to pick up the homework packets on Monday! I was amazed by the number of you that came to the school to pick them up. It made the delivery on Tuesday much smoother than I anticipated. Thanks again. I know that some area schools have suspended these services but it is my intention to continue to provide them as long as possible.
We are still currently scheduled to be out until April 6. I would like to remain optimistic about that date but we will have to wait to see how the situation unfolds before then. We will continue to keep you informed of any updates in that area.
State mandated testing has been suspended for the current school year. There has also been some forgiveness for students in areas such as the testing requirements to qualify for the A+ program.
Please keep following the recommended guidelines- groups of 10 or less, use social distancing, and don’t go out unless you need to. Hopefully these measures will help cut down on the number of cases. Stay safe and we look forward to when things return back to normal and we can see the students again.

MSHSAA Spring Update

Due to recent CDC and federal government guidelines, we will be postponing Prom 2020. We are actively looking to reschedule from April 18th to a future date. Please be patient as continue to monitor the current situation in the coming weeks.

As you are looking through assignments if you need help please email tturner@richlandbears.us or call ext 202 or your classroom teacher. We are here to help. Thank you (or email me a video of your student reading) I would love to "see" them!

We are holding a special Board meeting tomorrow night to approve bids for a potential FEMA addition if extra funding becomes available. That is the only item on the agenda and it was necessary to get our paperwork in by the deadline.

A reminder - packet pickup at both schools today until 6:00. Please pick them up today if possible - that will shorten the delivery time tomorrow. We will try to roll those buses out at 9:00. Thanks again for your patience & understanding

Packet pick-up for elementary students will be on Monday, March 23rd from 9am-6pm. Please pull up to the front doors and remain in your car. A staff member will get your name and bring all materials to your car. Please honk if you do not see staff. Thank you

A reminder that our food delivery will be on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday this week. We will deliver two days of food on Monday and Wednesday. In addition, an educational route will be run on Tuesday to deliver packets to everyone who can’t pick them up on Monday. The principals have details on the pick up process. Thanks again for everyone’s patience and understanding. I have been really proud of the efforts of the Richland R-IV family to provide for our students!

Packet pick-up for Jr./Sr. High School students will be on Monday, March 23rd from 9am-6pm. Please pull up to the junior high doors and remain in your car. A teacher will get your name and bring all materials to your car. Athletic contests/competition information

Dear Richland R-IV Patrons,
Due to the continued concerns of the COVID-19 virus, we will be out of school until April 6. We have made plans to provide educational content to your students during this time. The teachers will have lessons online and we will be sending packets home for students without internet access. (or who would prefer that method of delivery) There will be two methods of getting the packets. We will have a parent pickup on Monday, March 23 from 9:00 am until 6:00 at each building. The elementary access will be at the front door and at the junior/high school it will be in the back of the gym by the library. We will bring the work out to you so that no one has to enter the building. We do not want students to stress out about the work but we want to provide opportunities for them to work on skills they will need to use when we return. For those of you who cannot pick up the packets, we will run a bus to deliver them on Tuesday morning, March 24. The teachers will also have “office hours” from 9:00 am to noon daily where they can be reached for any assistance that is needed, That will vary and may consist of email, phone calls, or online messaging.
All extracurricular activities will be suspended as long as we are out due to the virus concerns. We also ask that outside groups not use our facilities as we are trying to ensure we have the social distancing suggested by the CDC.
We have also changed our food delivery process a bit. We will deliver on Thursday and Friday of this week as we have been doing the last two days. Starting next week, we will deliver food on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Two days worth of meals will be delivered on Monday and Wednesday. These meals are available to any child 18 or under. (or any current Richland student who is over 18) Please continue to spread word of this program by word of mouth so that everyone knows about it.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding through these difficult times. I have been very impressed and proud of our employees as they have worked hard to meet the needs of our students. We will continue to work together for what is best for our students and community and eventually things will return to normal.
Sincerely,
Brian Lee
Superintendent
Richland R-IV School

Due to the continuing COVID-19 virus concerns, Richland Schools will be out of session until April 6. We have made plans to provide educational content to our students and those details will follow soon. Thanks again for your patience

Kangaroo and Horse route buses have already left to deliver food. Please be ready to meet them.

Food pick up is also available from 9:00 - 10:00 at the back door of the elementary gym.

The buses are about ready to roll out. They will run the regular routes so please be waiting for the delivery if you are interested. I thank you for your patience as we try out this new process!

From MSHSAA in regards to the Music Festival:
We regret that we are canceling the remaining district solo/small ensemble, large group, as well as the State solo/small ensemble festivals.

Starting tomorrow morning we will be distributing school meals, free of charge. Two meals will go out at the same time, starting at 9:00 and will be delivered to your student’s bus stop. You don’t need to be a bus rider to get a meal - that is how we will know where to deliver it. In addition, we will have a grab and go station at the back side of the gym in the elementary school, if that works better for you. Please be patient as we work this process out. We also have no idea how many children will want meals, but we will work that our as we go. To help in our planning, if you do not want meals for your children, you can email that to me at blee@richlandbears.us Thank you for your understanding as we work together though these circumstances.

Please complete this form in regards to your Internet Capabilities. Thank you https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1bZ9VTbDgqpVt0eu5Wm5hjU11w5UbXuJBRd3rIly7T5k/edit?usp=sharing

We are looking at options for alternative forms of education, if necessary. We need to ensure that all of our students can be reached. We are also looking at options for meal distribution. I will let you know when we have more information

After continued discussion and research we have decided to extend Spring Break for another week through March 22 for the safety of everyone in our distinct.
