I wanted to share some information about our virtual learning option. Students who select this option will have a two week grace period to change their minds and come back to seated learning. After that time, students will be expected to stay in the virtual mode until at least the end of the quarter to complete the grading period. This will help us effectively plan and schedule. Virtual students will be expected to log in daily and will have the same assignment deadlines as seated students. They will also not be able to visit campus during the school day. In addition, students who choose virtual learning will not be able to participate in extracurricular activities while in that status. This will include athletics and any activities that are not a part of a student’s course grade.
The Open House breakdown works as follows: In the elementary school, it will be divided by last name on this schedule:
4:30-5:30 A-H; 5:30-6:30 I-P; 6:30-7:30 Q-Z. In the Junior High/High School, the divisions will be based on student grade, with the two buildings meeting in different sections of the school. There will be guidance on where to go at the building Thursday night. The schedule will be: 4:30-5:30 7th, 9th, 12th; 5:30-6:30 8th, 10th; 6:30-7:30 11th

Open House is Thursday night from 4:30-7:30. Each building has adjusted their schedule from years past to limit the number of people at any time. Please socially distance and follow safe practices. Masks are strongly recommended due to the number of people at the event.
Central Ozark Medical Center and Richland School District are partnering to bring medical care on campus to your student.
Please join us for the mandatory parent meeting for parents of athletes participating in high school fall sports (softball, baseball, and soccer). This meeting will be held on Friday, August 21, at 5:30 at the softball field. If you are not able to attend, please set up a conference with the Athletic Director, Kim Latham.

The RHS softball team will be playing in a jamboree on Saturday, August 22 at Ballparks National in Macks Creek. Tentative times are 10:00 vs Climax Springs and 11:00 vs Marion C. Early. Both games will be played on field 2.

Welcome Mr. Alexander back to 3rd grade!
All 7th grade students are invited to tour the junior high building on Wednesday, August 19th. For social distancing reasons, there will be two tour times. The first will begin promptly at 2:00 followed by the second at 2:30. Please sign up for your time by clicking on the link: https://forms.gle/WJtYuMpL1ryvLGzz9. We strongly encourage everyone to wear a mask and ask that only 2 individuals attend the tour with your child.

Open House will take place on Thursday, August 20 from 4:30-7:30pm. At this time, we are asking all 7th grade students, freshman and seniors to plan to visit between 4:30-5:30, 8th grade students and sophomores between 5:30-6:30, and juniors between 6:30-7:30. The Junior High and High School will be open throughout the evening, but masks are strongly recommended and we ask that no more than two people per student visit their teachers. While waiting to speak to a teacher, please practice safe social distancing in the hallways as much as possible.
If you do not feel comfortable coming to the building for Open House, each teacher will have a virtual Open House video or slideshow for you to view on their Google Classroom site. The Pulaski County Health Center will be at the high school Open House on August 20th from 4:30pm-7:30pm to give immunizations. Students under 18 will need a parent present.
Just a reminder that practice for high school fall sports begins tomorrow, August 10th. You must have an active physical on file to practice. Athletes need to bring a filled water bottle with them. Practice times are as follows:
Baseball: 8-10 am (at the baseball field)
Soccer: 8-10 am
Softball: 6-8 pm
Tennis (girls): 8-9:30 am
Due to a misunderstanding, it was portrayed that Richland R-IV wasn’t spending money on classroom supplies like they had previously done due to COVID-19 concerns. This is not the case - there has been no change on that front. We appreciate the thought of helping out and thank Better Lives Today for all that they have done (and continue to do) for our students and staff in getting extras, providing supplies for students in need, etc. We are grateful for anyone who is willing to provide assistance for students and to help with special projects , etc. However, please know that we will continue to provide the basic necessities for school and also for any needs that arise due to the ever changing situation we find ourselves in.

Richland School District will begin school August 24th in Phase 3 with all students seated in the classroom, five days a week however arrangements can be made for students whose parents have decided that their children will not be returning to seated courses. Please contact your building principal by August 10th to enroll in the virtual option taught by Richland teachers.
